Busines Analyst

NexGen Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Business Analyst to support federal government engineering, leasing, property, fleet, and asset management programs. This individual will be required to work closely with members of the NexGen’s and client’s teams, including but not limited to subject matter experts, technical leads, and project managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Develop user requirement reports/documents.Responsible for Branch of Engineering & Asset Management Web sites development, updates, and maintenance.Assist users with engineering, leasing, property, and fleet databases.
• Serve as technical advisor on engineering, leasing, property, and fleet computer software development projects.
• Provide technical assistance to Ground Transportation, Geographic Information System (GIS) layer data elements that are updated from other systems.
• Conduct group training sessions on engineering, leasing, property, and fleet databases and/or software applications
• Develop training material, user manuals, presentations, and reports.Provide technical assistance, and support on engineering, leasing, property and fleet database or software applications users.
• Participate at appropriate meetings, workshops, and technical meetings; as well as making formal presentations
• Assist with Information Technology planning, design, developing and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting/debug, and maintenance of new or existing applications that support engineering, leasing, property, and fleet programs.
• Work with IT staff to ensure databases software applications meet technical, functional and security requirements; ensure applications are optimized for state-of-the-art technology and functionality.
• Document customer business rules and functional requirements and translate requirements into application prototypes.Perform analysis of data and respond to data calls through report queries. 

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline
• 3-5 years experience as a Business Analyst with reporting responsibilities.

Technical Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge and skills in systems analysis and design methodologies, systems documentation of requirements for databases and applications using the following products, and/or technologies: Share Point; MS Office including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Brio Reporting Tool; Adobe Reader; SQL (Knowledge of database concepts to query table). Visio and RoboHelp would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with GIS programming, spatial analysis methods and ArcGIS software.
• Knowledge of software and database design principles, methods and approaches; procedures for designing, developing, optimizing and integrating new and/or modified systems components.
• Knowledge of system design and programming techniques to perform database analysis.

ColdFusion/PHP Developer

ColdFusion/PHP Developer responsible for development/maintenance of both current and future web applications written using ColdFusion, Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) technology stack as well as Oracle. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative, highly motivated and goal-oriented team player with at least 3 years of ColdFusion and PHP development experience within the LAMP stack, strong knowledge of MySQL and Oracle databases, and experience with JRun and Tomcat application servers running on a Unix (Linux) platform.

IT Manager (Java)
