BLM Application Security System (BASS)
US DOI, BLM, Division of Information Resource Management Support Services (DIRMSS)
Architected, designed and developed a security portal with the main purpose of unifying the overarching security policy that governs access to bureau-wide business applications. BASS uses industry standard JEE technologies to deliver an application that allows BLM to be compliant with federal security standards. Our solution enabled integration of several heterogeneous business applications for unified, secure access through the BASS.

APHIS Cost Management System (ACMS)
USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services
The APHIS Cost Management System (ACMS) is an agency-wide unified and accurate Status of Funds (SOF) reporting application for normal and emergency management operations. ACMS replaced multiple legacy SOF systems, becoming the unified agency-wide standard. It brought economies of scale associated with a unified enterprise-wide financial reporting application. The availability and use of a single SOF system throughout the agency also minimized the transition effort for establishment of an Incident Command System in the event of an outbreak or emergency. NexGen provides application life cycle management support services, including design and development of over 300 function/feature enhancements, as well as operations and maintenance support.

e-Planning
US DOI, BLM, National Operations Center, National Application.
The ePlanning national application provides the BLM with the ability to create Land Use Plan (LUP) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents through a web interface; to publish these documents to a public BLM web site for comments; and to consolidate those comments with the documentation at the plan approval phase.
Prior to NexGen's involvement a major upgrade to the ePlanning system was unsuccessful. NexGen's team re-configured a new application platform and performed a successful deployment of the system upgrade. As part of our O&M support services, NexGen's team of developers made series of performance and functionality enhancements that resulted in substantial improvement of the system performance, with some operations completing in one-tenth the time required by the original system. Facilities and Asset Management System (FAMS)
US DOI, BLM, National Operations Center, National Application.
FAMS is an IBM/Maximo based asset management application. As part of NexGen's O&M support services, our team successfully completed the upgrade of FAMS from Maximo v5.2 to Maximo v6.2. The upgrade involved migration of legacy data and the recreation of custom applications developed for the BLM FAMS. NexGen's team developed a custom migration toolset using novel data processing techniques. During the migration millions of assets were analyzed, processed and reorganized into logical hierarchical trees. A custom metadata library was used to individually analyze, map, and transform almost one billion data elements with nearly 100% accuracy. The final result was a system with excellent user acceptance, clean and secure data.
