Our CustomersNexGen Technologies has provided IT support to the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management at the Denver Federal Center and in Nevada since 1998. The BLM manages 262 million acres of public lands, located primarily in the Western States. These lands contain a remarkable array of natural resources including oil and gas, and offer opportunities for the exploitation of alternative energy sources such as wind, biomass, and geothermal energy. BLM-managed lands also have spectacular beauty and are visited by millions annually.

Over the past nine years, NexGen has supported the BLM’s financial and payroll systems through the design, implementation and management of cost-savings systems that serve the enterprise. We provide on-site, daily support to BLM’s Land and Resource Project Office and the National Business Center. In addition, we support BLM’s computer security efforts through the NexGen Certification and Accreditation Group.

NexGen is very proud of its successful implementation of IT systems and of our cybersecurity services provided to the BLM. One BLM manager commented that “Our folks were very impressed with both Mark and Anthony. They were very professional, helpful, and insightful, and very knowledgeable. They managed to get their points across clearly, point out our weaknesses, and provide several good ideas for improvement, while still making sure it was all in the spirit of cooperation and assistance.  We appreciate that very much.”  Mark Wood and Anthony Van Dyck are two members of NexGen’s C&A team.

NexGen has also developed and managed customized Geographic Information Systems for the BLM.  These systems allow BLM staff and its customers to view and analyze geospatial data for lands managed by the Bureau.  In implementing these systems, NexGen has worked with leading technologies from such software manufacturers as ESRI, IBM, Sun, and Microsoft including ArcGIS, ArcObjects, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, Informix, Java, and MS Windows.
